slow dawn

I use the medium of collage for its need for meticulousness, patience and intentionality. The name slow dawn arrived from a tune I love and the importance to practice precision and care. To slow down.

My work has been featured in
Volume I of the Chicago Collage Magazine, the Fulton Street Collective, and on many show posters and album artwork.

The gallery below contains recent commissioned work, as well as some personal pieces I’ve made. Below that, you’ll find some testimonials from folks I’ve worked with.

Testimonials

Working with Mark (Slow Dawn Collage) was an organic and seamless process. Mark took the direction we provided along with our single track and lyrics, and gave us something we couldn’t have envisioned or created ourselves. The thoughtful follow-up questions Mark asked helped get us to the unexpected final piece that felt magical and fun, like uncovering a treasure. The turnaround time was very quick, but the artwork was not compromised. The single artwork doubled our excitement of putting out the song!

-Katie Steel of Pelafina

Mark was prompt, creative, engaged with the project and above all, amazing at their art form. All I had were concepts, no real vision; somehow, they were able to make something that elevated and congealed everything I was writing about. Would absolutely work with them again.
